Valladolid is a city in northwestern Spain and the capital of the autonomous community of Castilla y León. It is located on the banks of the Pisuerga River, in a central position within the region, making it a key transportation and economic hub.
The city lies approximately 240 km northwest of Madrid, 150 km southwest of Bilbao, 120 km northeast of Salamanca, 65 km northeast of Zamora, 190 km northeast of Ciudad Rodrigo, and about 325 km west of Zaragoza. Valladolid's strategic location has historically made it an important political and cultural center, with strong connections to other major Spanish cities.

Plaza Mayor is the lively heart of Valladolid, this grand square is one of Spain's oldest, dating back to the 16th century. Surrounded by historic buildings, shops, and cafés.
Catedral de Valladolid (Santa Iglesia Catedral Metropolitana de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción), designed by Juan de Herrera, this unfinished cathedral (just 40-45% of the initial project was completed) is an impressive mix of Renaissance and Baroque styles. National Sculpture Museum (Museo Nacional de Escultura) is located in the stunning Colegio de San Gregorio. Campo Grande is a pleasant beautiful urban park in the city center, perfect for a peaceful walk among some lush greenery, fountains, and resident peacocks. It provides an escape with shaded paths, small lakes, and playgrounds.
San Pablo Church (Iglesia de San Pablo) is a masterpiece of Gothic and Plateresque architecture. This former Dominican convent features an intricate façade adorned with elaborate carvings. It has been historically linked to Spanish royalty, including the baptisms of King Philip II and King Philip IV.
Palacio de Santa Cruz was one of the first Renaissance buildings in Spain. Nowadays the former palace serves as the headquarters of the University of Valladolid. Its beautiful courtyard and historic library are the highlights.
Casa de Cervantes is the former residence of Miguel de Cervantes, the author of Don Quixote. Now a museum, the space recreates his 17th-century home. Visitors can see period furniture, personal artifacts, and exhibits about the author's life and work.
