Faro Airport / Aeroporto Internacional de Faro (Tel: 289 800 800; airport code FAO) is the major arrival point for the Algarve region of southern Portugal. Lisbon Airport and Porto Airport are Portugal's other major air hubs.
Faro Airport has scheduled and charter flights to many places in Europe and around the world. Faro Airport also connects to both Porto and Lisbon airports with TAP and Portugalia for onward flights to Fuchal in Madeira and the islands of the Azores.
Faro Airport is located only 7km from the center of Faro town.
Buses #14 and #16 connect to downtown Faro in 20 minutes. Buses run approximately from 7 am-9 pm. A taxi to central Faro costs in the region of 9-10 euros. For Albufeira 41-49 euros and Olhao 18-21 euros.
