Lisbon Airport (Portela Airport or Aeroporto de Lisboa) is Portugal's major airport and most important international flight hub.
Lisbon Airport (Tel: 218 413 500; airport code LIS) has scheduled flights to multiple destinations around the world and also has connecting flights to both Porto airport and Faro airport. Portela also has flights to both Fuchal in Madeira and the islands of the Azores.
Portela Airport is situated 4 km northeast of downtown of Lisbon. Long-term plans are in the pipeline to build a new international airport at Alcochete 50 km north of the capital. Though at the moment this plan seems to be on permanent hold.
Lisbon Airport is on the Lisbon metro and 3 AeroBuses connect the airport with various destinations in the capital.
#1 Aerobus runs to the city center and connects to Estação de Entrecampos, Campo Pequeno, Saldanha, Picoas, Marques de Pombal, Avenida da Liberdade, Restauradores and Rossio.
The #1 Aerobus departs Lisbon Airport every 20 minutes daily from 8 am to 9 pm.
The journey takes approximately 30 minutes from the Airport to Rossio and about 35 minutes in the other direction.
#2 Aerobus runs to Cais do Sodre via Areeiro, Alameda D. A. Henriques, Plaça do Chile, Rua de Angola, Igreja dos Anjos, Martim Moniz, Rossio / Plaça da Fiqueira, Praça do Comercio and Cais do Sodre.
The #2 Aerobus departs Lisbon Airport every 20 minutes everyday from 8.10 am to 9.10 pm.
The journey takes approximately 30 minutes from the Airport to Cais do Sodre and about 35 minutes in the other direction.
#3 Aerobus runs from Lisbon Airport to the bus station at Sete Rios (Sete Rios Coach Terminal) from Monday to Friday except public holidays.
