Tamariz Beach (Praia do Tamariz), Estoril
Tamariz Beach in Estoril is one of the most popular beaches on the Lisbon Coast. It is reached by tunnel from Estoril Station on the Cascais Line (Linha de Cascais) from both Cais do Sodré Station in Lisbon to the east and Cascais Station in nearby Cascais to the west.
The sandy beach is a short walk from Casino Estoril and Jardim do Estoril. It can get very busy especially over weekends in the summer holidays.

In summer the beach is well-equipped with facilities including showers, rest rooms, lifeguards and beach side cafes.
There are stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean, which stretch out to the horizon, creating a truly tranquil and serene ambiance. Visitors can take leisurely strolls along the shoreline, sunbathe on the soft sands, or take a refreshing dip in the ocean.
Other beaches in and around Estoril include Praia da Rata to the west and Praia da Poça (with its historic 17th century Fort of São Pedro do Estoril) and Praia da Azarujinha to the east.

Casa do Tamariz is a holiday home with garden. It has excellent reviews and is very close to the seafront.
Also nearby is the Hotel São Mamede Estoril - Cascais a 2-star property with beach front accommodation.

Things to See & Do in Estoril
Estoril still exudes an air of old-world glamour with its casino, upmarket hotels and pleasant beaches. Visitors can also explore the town's quiet residential streets lined with upmarket cafes, shops, and restaurants.
Housed in the Casa Verdades de Faria, 20 minutes on foot north of the station, the small Museum of Portuguese Music (Museu da Música Portuguesa) contains a collection of Portuguese musical instruments and is also used for regular recitals of traditional Portuguese music.
The original collection was a gift from the French ethnomusicologist Michel Giacometti, who spent much of his life in Portugal studying and recording popular oral traditions which were if danger of being lost for ever.
The Espaço Memória dos Exílios above the post office is presently closed awaiting new premises. It documented the plight of refugees, in particular Jewish refugees, fleeing persecution during World War II.
