Lisbon Transport: Lisbon Ferry Terminal

Lisbon has three main ferry terminals on the north bank of the River Tagus. From west to east these are: Belem (Estação Fluvial de Belem), Cais do Sodré and Terreiro do Paço.
On the south side of the River Tagus are the ferry ports of Trafaria, Porto Brandão, Cacilhas Seixal and Montijo.
Crossings
Ferries from Belem go to Porto Brandão directly across the River Tagus and also to Trafaria a little way to the west. The journey takes about 25 minutes.
Ferries from Cais do Sodré go to Seixal, Montijo and Cacilhas.
Ferries from Terreiro do Paço connect to Barreiro.
Passengers can use their Via Viagem Card on the crossings.

Cais do Sodre
From Cais do Sodre there are Transtejo Soflusa boats to Cacilhas from 5.35 am until 1.40 am. At peak periods there are 6-7 crossings an hour.
From Cacilhas there are departures from 5.05 am until 11.33 pm.
To Montijo ferries from Cais do Sodre on weekdays run from 6.30 am until 11.15 pm.
From Montijo boats leave from 6 am until 10.30 pm. There are just one or two departures an hour.
To Seixal ferries from Cais do Sodre on weekdays run from 6.35 am until 11.15 pm.
From Seixal boats leave from 6.10 am until 10.30 pm. There are one to three departures an hour.
Terreiro do Paço
From Terreiro do Paço there are Transtejo Soflusa boats from 5.30 am until 2 am. At peak periods there are 6-7 crossings an hour.
From Barreiro there are departures from 5.05 am until 1.30 am.
Belem
There are car ferry crossings on weekdays between 7 am and 10 pm from Belem, on Saturdays between 7.30 am and 9.30 pm and on Sundays and public holidays between 8.30 am and 9.30 pm.
From Trafaria on weekdays there are departures from 6.42 am to 9.30 pm, on Saturdays from 7.12 am-9 pm and on Sundays and public holidays from 8.12 am and 9 pm.
There are reduced services on all routes on weekends and public holidays.

Cacilhas
Cacilhas is a terminus for the Metro Transportes do Sul (MTS), a light rail/tram network that connects south to Pragal and Corroios stations from where there are links with the Fertagus commuter line north to Sete Rios in Lisbon and south to Setúbal Station in Setúbal.
Cacilhas is also a good starting point to head to the beach resort at Caparica. There are also buses to Cristo Rei. To get to Cristo Rei take a #101 bus from near the ferry port in Cacilhas.
Cais do Sodré
Cais do Sodré Station in Lisbon is on the Linha Verde (Green Line) of the Lisbon metro (Metropolitano de Lisboa).
The station is also the eastern terminus of the Cascais Line to Estoril and Cascais on the Atlantic Coast.
Belem
For the Belem Ferry terminal use any of Lisbon buses: #728, #714, #727, #729 or #751 or the tram number #15 from Cais do Sodre. Train: From Cascais or Cais do Sodre on the Cascais Line get out at Belém Station.
Terreiro do Paço
Terreiro do Paço Station in Lisbon is on the Linha Azul (Blue Line) of the metro.

Via Viagem
A good way of getting around on the Lisbon metro is to purchase a Viva Viagem card. This is a rechargeable electronic card that can be used on Lisbon's metro, buses (except the AeroBus to and from Lisbon Airport), ferries, trams and urban trains to and from Sintra and Cascais. The Viva Viagem card costs 0.50 cents to first buy and is valid for one year from the date of purchase.
