Portugal Buses: Lagos Bus Station
The main bus station (Terminal Rodoviário de Lagos) in Lagos is at Largo do Rossio de São João Batista, just to the north of the old town.
Local Onda buses run on nine routes connecting Lagos bus station, Lagos town, Lagos train station, and Lagos Marina with nearby beaches such as Praia da Dona Ana and Meia Praia, outlying villages such as Odiaxere, Burgau, Portelas and Barão de São João (for Lagos Zoo).
Eva buses also connect Lagos with Portimão, Albufeira, Faro, Olhão, Tavira and Vila Real de Santo Antonio in Portugal with Sevilla in Spain along the southern coast route. Eva buses also head west to Sagres.
Long distance buses often operated by Rede Expressos also run from Lagos north to Aljezur, Setubal and the capital Lisbon.
The Vamus 79 bus runs on weekdays from Lagos Bus Station to Odeceixe. It takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes via Bensafrim and Aljezur. There are also buses from Lagos to Almancil, Loulé, and Paderne.

The Hotel Marina Rio is centrally located, with access to shops and restaurants, and overlooks a beautiful palm-lined marina on the placid blue Rio Bensafrim that runs through Lagos. (So, try and get a room on the river side.) There's a (seasonal) heated rooftop swimming pool. Comfort, convenience, good food, and helpful friendly service - for surprisingly affordable rates. Low-cost car parking next door.
The Sensations Guesthouse is quite near the center of Lagos, about 13 minutes' walk to Meia Praia Beach or Batata Beach. This unassuming, low-rise guesthouse is the epitome of good, plain, and simple accommodation, with guests consistently rating it highly for cleanliness, kemptness, security and friendliness. Note that the toilet is at one with the room. The rooftop patio is a pleasant bonus. Cozy, friendly, and serves a great breakfast - and all for a very reasonable room rate.
