Diário de Notícias HQ, Lisbon
The Diário de Notícias headquarters building is on Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon.
It was built in 1940 by the architect Porfírio Pardal Monteiro working under Duarte Pacheco, the minister of public works under Salazar and the New State (Estado Novo) regime and also a popular mayor of Lisbon. Within the fine building are decorative panels by the modernist artist Almada Negreiros. One is the large mural entitled Mapa-Múndi in the main foyer.
