Caldas da Rainha Station in Caldas da Rainha is the main point of rail access to this spa and ceramics center.
The station is a 10 minute walk or short taxi ride to the main square to the east at Praça da Republica where the daily fruit and vegetable market takes place.
There has been a station in the town since 1887.

History
The present station in Caldas da Rainha was built in the early 20th century in traditional style.
Within the main building are azulejos tile panels representing Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, Queen Leonor, who founded the Thermal Hospital, the Church of Our Lady of Pópulo, the pleasant green space of Dom Carlos I Park as well as nearby Foz do Arelho and Óbidos Lagoon on the Atlantic coast.

Trains
Caldas da Rainha is on the Linha do Oeste (Western Line) running north from Sintra to Leiria and Figueira da Foz. There are Regional and InterRegional services to the station.
Getting to Caldas da Rainha by train from Lisbon is slower and less direct than by bus, however.
The train from Lisbon usually requires changes at Agualva-Cacem and Mira Sintra-Melecas. There is a direct train, however. Journey time is about 2 hours to 2 and a half hours from Sete Rios.
There are trains on the line to Óbidos, Sao Mamede, Paul, Bombarral, Torres Vedras and Mafra from Caldas heading south.
Going north on the Linha do Oeste are Salir do Porto, Sao Martinho do Porto, Famalicao da Nazaré, Valado and Leiria.
From Sintra Station in Sintra change at Agualva-Cacem and Mira Sintra-Melecas (over 2 hours in total).
It is easiest to arrive here, however, by bus from Lisbon.

There is a waiting room at the railway station, public telephones and a nearby car park. The toilets at the station allow wheelchair access.

There are taxis waiting outside the station as well as local city buses.
