Belem Tower - Lisbon
Belem Tower (Tower of St Vincent) in Belem was built to defend the city of Lisbon from attack from the River Tagus which has access to the Atlantic Ocean. The limestone Belem Tower dates from the early 16th century and is a fine example of Manueline architecture.
