Elvas still has a Portuguese military presence right up to the present day. The Museu Militar has a collection of artillery both historic and more recent, military uniforms, tanks, weapons, and other items.
The museum is at Avenida de São Domingos 13.
Hours: Summer: April to October; Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 12.30 pm; 2.30 to 7 pm; Winter: November to March; Tuesday to Sunday from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm; 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm; Closed Mondays.
Admission: 3 Euros.
