Porto Stations: Póvoa de Varzim Station
Póvoa de Varzim Station is the main point of access for the Atlantic coastal resort of Póvoa de Varzim, north of Porto.
Póvoa de Varzim is no longer connected by railway but the former railway line is now the Porto metro Line B. Trains take around 1 hour from both Trindade and Casa da Música Station in downtown Porto.
The next station heading south towards Porto is São Bras. It is four stops to Vila do Conde. For Porto Airport (Aeroporto) change at Verdes Station (16 stops). It is then just two stops to the airport (Aeroporto Internacional Sá Carneiro).
Buses from Póvoa de Varzim
Local buses also stop at the station, though the main bus station is a 20 minute walk north. There are buses from the bus station to Avenida 25 de Abril, Praça Luís de Camões, Coração de Jesus, the Mercado Municipal (Municipal Market) and Praça do Almada.
Other buses run to the Parque da Cidade, Avenida dos Banhos (the main strip of hotels and restaurants on the beach) and Igreja da Azurara.

Within easy walking distance of the station are Póvoa de Varzim City Hall (Paços do Concelho de Póvoa de Varzim), the Ethnography and History Museum of Póvoa de Varzim (Museu Municipal de Etnografia e História da Póvoa de Varzim) and the Castelo da Póvoa (Fortaleza da Póvoa de Varzim).
The Monumento a Eça de Queiroz is in the pleasing Praça do Almada. Walk or take a bus to the Casino on Avenida dos Descobrimentos.
