Time Out Mercado da Ribeira
Time Out Mercado da Ribeira is a new food court and fresh produce market in Lisbon that opened in 2014 in the old Mercado da Ribeira opposite Cais do Sodre Station.
Over 30 concessions offer regional food and drink in a communal space over large, light wooden tables and benches next door to the revamped fresh fish, meat and vegetable market.

The Time Out Mercado da Ribeira becomes a lively venue in the evening (especially at weekends) but is also a tranquil spot for lunch with a glass of beer, mineral water or fine Portuguese wine.
Choose from a wide variety of regional dishes including food from the Alentejo and Algarve as well as more contemporary fare such as fresh sushi.
Several top Lisbon eateries have opened stores here so visitors can enjoy their gourmet food in an informal and communal atmosphere.
The Time Out Mercado da Ribeira is also a good place to shop for traditional Lisbon souvenirs including canned sardines from the Conserveira de Lisboa.
The original Mercado da Ribeira opened in 1882 and is a handsome structure topped with a Moorish-style dome.
Time Out has plans to open similar venues in London and New York.
