History

The tiling on the old station depicts traditional, regional scenes, people and places including the Rio Vouga, the Palace Hotel Bussaco, fishermen at work on moliceiros boats and the old Monastery of Jesus now the current Museum of Aveiro.

The modern station building done in a striking plain white was built in 2005 and now serves as Aveiro's main station. The old station is preserved and should be on any visitor's list of things to see in the city. It is a beautiful building.
