The small Igreja de São Sebastião in Viseu is an historic, though modest church on Rua Nunes de Carvalho.
It dates from the late 18th and early 19th centuries and replaced an earlier church. It is dedicated to Saint Sebastian - protector against plagues and famine.
The church is a short walk from the Museu Almeida Moreira and the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Viseu.
An interesting place to stay nearby is a Portuguese take on a Japanese-style ryokan (traditional inn), the Viseu Ryokan - Hospedaria Japonesa & SPA, which is oppposite the Museu de História da Cidade.
