Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, Seixal, Lisbon, Portugal

The Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição is the parish church of Seixal, one of the 18 municipalities of Lisbon.
The original 16th century chapel was succeeded by the current church in 1728. However, this was badly damaged in the 1755 earthquake and was restored in 1858 and again in 1904.
Done in a Mannerist and Baroque style, the church has a single rectangular nave with the main altar decorated with carvings from the 18th century. The facade is covered in baroque style, blue and white azulejos tiles, as is the tower located on the right side of the building. The ornate wooden ceiling has paintings by Pereira Cão with the central image featuring Our Lady of the Conception (Nossa Senhora da Conceição), and two smaller ones of St. Peter and St. Paul.

The walls of the chancel are covered in 18th century marbled stucco and gilded woodwork, and there are also four panels on canvas representing the Annunciation, the Visitation, St. John the Evangelist and the Apparition of the Angel to St. Peter.
Address: Largo da Igreja, 2840-480 Seixal, Portugal.
