Praça do Município, or Municipal Square, is a significant public space in Funchal, Madeira. The square is surrounded by several notable buildings, including the 18th-century Paços do Concelho (City Hall), a fine example of Portuguese colonial architecture, characterized by its Baroque and Neoclassical features. The square’s pavement is decorated with a distinctive black-and-white mosaic or calçada, which depicts geometric designs that echo the island's maritime history. At its center stands a fountain, symbolizing the city's connection to water and its importance for Funchal's early development as a trading post.
Also surrounding the square are both the Jesuit College of Funchal and the Museu de Arte Sacra do Funchal (MASF).
