The Fatima Festival is a well-known celebration held in Fatima in honor of the Virgin Mary in Portugal. Beginning in 1917, three Portuguese children are reported to have seen an apparition an angel, with the "Miracle of the Sun" said to have occurred on October 13, 1917.
