No visa is required for a stay of up to 90 days for citizens of: Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Croatia, Ecuador, EU, Israel, Japan, Malawi, Mexico, New Zealand, South Korea, Uruguay, USA, the Vatican City and Venezuela. All other nationals of other countries will have to obtain a Schengen visa from their nearest Portuguese embassy. Usually a Schengen visa is valid for travel in other EU countries that are signatories to the 1990 Schengen convention.
