Lagos Station (Estação Ferroviária de Lagos)
Lagos Station in Lagos is the western terminus of the Algarve Line (Linha do Algarve) that runs from Lagos via Tunes to Faro Station to the eastern terminus at Vila Real de Santo Antonio Station in Vila Real de Santo Antonio.
The journey along the whole Linha do Algarve that runs from Lagos via Tunes and Faro Station to Vila Real de Santo Antonio takes around 3 hours with a change at Faro.
The original Lagos Station dated from 1922 but was replaced by a modern building in 2003. The original vacant building still stands nearby.
There are trains leaving Lagos for Faro at 6.16am, 6.59am (except Sundays and public holidays), 7.48am, 11.14am, 1.10pm, 2.18pm, 5.05pm, 6.13pm and 8.01pm. Other departures from Lagos Station go as far as Portimão and Tunes only. Trains from Lagos terminating at Portimão depart at 9.03am and 3.17pm (except Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays). The train from Lagos terminating at Tunes departs at 6.13pm on Sunday or Monday if Sunday is a public holiday from July 3 to September 4.
Lagos Station is behind Lagos Marina and is close to the Portuguese Discoveries Wax Museum. Lagos bus station is on the other side of the Ribeira da Bensafrim river across the swing bridge. The first stop going east from Lagos Station is the beach at Meia Praia.
