Portugal Guides: Lagos Marina, Lagos, Algarve
The Lagos Marina (Marina de Lagos) is located across the Ribeira de Bensafrim over the swing bridge from the old town in Lagos.
Lagos Marina opened in 1994 and subsequent development has made the marina a very modern development with cafes, restaurants, hotels and the Portuguese Discoveries Wax Museum (Marina de Lagos).
During the day the marina hums with activity as a row of tour operators entice visitors to their kayaking trips, dolphin-watching cruises, fishing and other excursions.
In the late afternoon and evening, the marina is the perfect place for a relaxing drink or meal in one of the fine cafes and restaurants here. Places to eat and drink include Way Point Restaurant, Amuras Bar, Artesão Cafe and a branch of Pizza Hut.
Lagos marina welcomes yachts and their crews from all over the world. The marina has 462 pontoon berths for vessels up to 30 meters in length with water and electricity. There are also a number of ship repair specialist stores located at Lagos Marina.
Accommodation on or around Lagos Marina includes the excellent 4-star Marina Club Suite Hotel, Hotel Marina São Roque, Marina de Lagos Apartemento and several other apartments congregated behind Meia Praia beach.
